How to get involved with West London Opera
"WLO's mission is to provide training and experience of full stage productions for young singers hoping to make a career in opera."
Anyone wishing to be considered for a part in next season's production can be added to the audition list and will be invited for audition. Please complete the contact form with your details if you wish to be added to the mailing list.
The chorus forms an integral part of an opera, and some of those belonging to WLO have been singing with the group for some years. Often minor parts in an opera are taken by chorus members. The chorus currently numbers about 20 members and rehearses on Wednesday night at St Paul's School Hall in Brentford, Middx, TW8 0PN (map here).
Membership fees, which cover the cost of the rehearsal venue, the pianist, the Musical Director's and Artistic Director's fee, are in line with local current adult education fees.
West London Opera also offers other great ways of getting involved. One is to help with the production, costumes, scenery, props, lighting and stage management or Front of House. Not sure if you've got the skills – don't worry, we will train and encourage you! Another one is helping us with your experience: fundraising, design, press contacts, Friends, events assistance and general administrative skills.
Various fund-raising events are planned during the year including Social Evenings and Theatre Outings – see our What's New? section
New members are always welcome whether you would like to join the WLO chorus, or help backstage or in any other way, please contact us with your details.
